"Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest." — Matthew 9:38

T here is a need for more pastors and missionaries in the Lord's work. In the July edition of the Missionary Baptist Searchlight, Brother Phillip Miller discusses the lack of enough pastors and the need for more men to answer the call of God to do His work. Recently, going through my 1974 annual from the seminary with an old classmate, I counted 34 men in my class. Only 11 of those are active pastors today that I know of. Three are retired for health reasons and two of us are doing church sponsored ministries. We do need more pastors.

The overwhelming majority of support through IMD comes from churches. These churches have pastors who have a heart for missions, both interstate and foreign. These churches and God's people in this country are also the major source of support for foreign mission work.

If we don't send more missionaries to those countries, the Lord may send those people to ours in order for them to hear the Gospel. As recorded by Matthew, "Pray ye the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."

In closing, I would ask your church to prayerfully consider supporting Interstate Mission Development. If you have any questions please contact me at 501.284.9099 or use our contact form.
